Paul Chesson

Head of Japanese Equities

Invesco Perpetual

Based in Henley on Thames, Paul is responsible for the management of a number of Japanese equity portfolios alongside fellow fund managers Tony Roberts and Andy Tidby.

Paul began his investment career in 1990 at Touche Remnant, specialising in Japanese Equities before joining our company in 1993.

He holds an MA in Law from Oxford University and is an associate member of the Association for Investment Management.

 

Yuichi Murao

CFA, Senior Investment Officer, Japan Equity

Nomura Asset Management

Mr. Yuichi Murao, CFA is a Senior Investment Officer for Japanese equities at Nomura Asset Management. He has 28 years' investment experience and has managed actively managed Japanese equity strategies for clients around the world. Today, Yuichi is the Chairman of Nomura's Japanese Equity Investment Strategy Committee, a position he has held since 2015. Previously Yuichi was Chairman of the Japanese Stock Selection Committee for over 6 years. Yuichi holds an MBA from the London Business School.

Laurence Taylor

Portfolio Specialist, Global Equities

Laurence Taylor is a portfolio specialist in the Equity Division at T. Rowe Price. Laurence has 14 years of investment experience, five of which have been with T. Rowe Price. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, Mr. Taylor was a portfolio manager at AXA Rosenberg, with responsibility for European institutional clients, and began his career at Hewitt Associates in the UK Investment Practice. At Hewitt, he provided investment advice to European institutions as a client-facing consultant before specializing in the research and selection of global and international equity managers in the manager research team.

Michael Woolley

Client Portfolio Manager

Eastspring Investment

Michael Woolley joined Eastspring Investments, the Asian asset management business of Prudential plc, as Client Portfolio Manager for the Equity team, in August 2007.
Michael is embedded within the Japan equity focus team and is responsible for articulating the philosophy, process, positioning and performance of our various equity strategies.
Michael is also the Chair of Eastspring Investments Responsible Investment Working Group, which assumes responsibility for the implementation of Eastspring Investments Responsible Investment Framework and facilitates the exchange of information and learning on Responsible Investment across the business. He played a key role in the development of Eastspring's responsible investment strategy, which led to the firm becoming a PRI signatory in February 2018.
