Tiffany Hsiao

Lead Manager, CFA

Matthew Asia

Tiffany Hsiao is a Portfolio Manager at Matthews Asia. She manages the firm's China Small Companies Strategy and co-manages the Asia Small Companies and Asia Innovators Strategies. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, she was a Vice President and Research Analyst at Goldman Sachs Investment Partners in Hong Kong and Tokyo from 2007 to 2013. She was responsible for researching Asia Pacific investments, with an emphasis on equities in China. Previously, she spent six years at Franklin Templeton Investments, where she managed the firm's global communications fund. Tiffany earned her Master of Science and Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, and conversational in Cantonese.

Oliver Lee

Investment Director

Merian Global Investors

Oliver joined the company as investment director for Asian equities, based in Hong Kong, and in 2018 relocated to London to focus on emerging market and China equities. He joined from Schroders Investment Management, where he helped develop their alternatives business, and prior to this he spent four years at Sloane Robinson, the emerging market long/short equity boutique. Oliver started his career at UBS in 2000, working in both the London and Zurich offices, and then spent two years at Goldman Sachs. Oliver holds a BSc in business administration from Cardiff University and is both a CFA and CAIA charterholder.

Derrick Sun

Portfolio Manager


Derrick Sun is a Portfolio Manager of ICBC Credit Suisse Asset Management (International) Company Limited ("ICBCCSI"). He has over 22 years working experience including 12 years in financial industry. Prior to joining ICBCCSI, Derrick was an Executive Director and Deputy Portfolio Manager in China Equity Investment Division of UBS Asset Management. He previously worked for BNP Paribas (Asia) as Head of Small Mid-Cap & Healthcare of Equity Research Division. Derrick also worked as the general manager of a US biotech company's Shanghai operation as well as a project manager of Deloitte Consulting (US). He received a MBA, BBA and BS from University of Kentucky, US.
